The Bangor Daily New has a story about former UMass player Peter McCarty being inducted into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame.
McCarty was a four year letter winner (74,75,76,77) and was Co-Captain in 1977. He was one of the twelve UMass players to be named first team All-Yankee Conference that year. That was long enough ago so that the UMass press guide does not have tackling statistics for that era :)
